How To Overcome All Fears

“No passion so effectually robs the mind of its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.”
Edmund Burke

Fear False Evidence Appearing Real

Fear is often described as False Evidence Appearing Real. It is a great way to see it because once you recognize fear for what it really is you can begin to dissolve it.

The problem is that our minds can become crowded with layers of irrational thoughts. These layers feed fear and make it feel much stronger than it really is. The good news is that fear is simply a state of mind and like other states of mind it can be shifted.

Through understanding awareness and a new perspective you can change how fear shows up in your life. You may find that many fears begin to fade naturally and the ones that remain can be worked through step by step until they no longer hold you back.

What Type of Fear Sufferer Are You

“We crucify ourselves between two thieves regret for yesterday and fear of tomorrow.”
Fulton Oursler

Everyone experiences fear differently. Some people feel fear about the future some about past regrets and many about both. Just because fear is common does not mean it has to remain part of your life.

If you have ever believed that fear is too big to overcome or that it requires endless courage and effort you are not alone. But overcoming fear does not have to be exhausting or impossible. The key is to observe how your mind reacts and then use tools that allow you to reframe that reaction.

Most fears will dissolve simply through awareness and practice. If some stick around do not judge yourself just keep working with the process. Every step you take weakens fears hold and strengthens your confidence.

Stop Being a Caveman

“Nothing in life is to be feared it is only to be understood.”
Marie Curie

Imagine showing a Ferrari to a caveman. He would probably be terrified of it simply because he does not understand what it is. But to us it is completely normal not magical not supernatural just a machine we understand.

That is how fear works. Once you truly understand it it stops being frightening. It becomes something you can handle calmly and rationally.

So as you read this remind yourself fear does not need to control you. With understanding and the right mindset you can step into a calmer stronger way of living.

A Final Thought

Pause for a moment and imagine what it would feel like to live without fear shaping your choices. Even if just for a few seconds let yourself feel that freedom.

It feels good does it not? Hold onto that feeling, it is proof that a different way of experiencing life is possible.

Enjoy the ride.
